Problem statement
AI reads PO descriptions to classify each capex cost line per NAS at WBS level (with rationale), proposes allocation of shared costs, pre-fills the FA Control Form and sends it to Controllers for sign-off; monthly asset, useful-life and audit-risk flags plus on-demand audit extracts – aiming for capex correctly classified per NAS and every asset audit-ready across all factories.
Today:
- Many WBS cost lines are checked by hand; each cost's nature is read manually from PO descriptions and mapped to NAS asset categories – slow and person-dependent.
- POs, GRs, allocation files, FACFs and sign-offs sit in different places, so audit packs take time to compile; settlement points to correct are found late.
Expected outcomes and success metrics
- Faster settlement and consistent NAS classification – measured by WBS cost lines classified correctly per NAS at first pass.
- Risks caught early; audit-ready anytime.
- Consistent NAS & VAS book control.
Target users and impacted teams
- ENG project coordinators in all factories
- F&C (Factory Controllers, AO, VAS)
- Fixed Asset team
Data availability and readiness
- PO/GR/WBS (SAP, ENG)
- Allocation file & FACF (Excel/SharePoint, ENG + F&C)
- FA register Book 01/10 (SAP, F&C)
- NAS/VAS guidelines
Note: Synthetic data could be potentially provided during the process, upon approval of the Nestlé team and in compliance with data law.
Integration, deployment and infrastructure
To be determined
Note: Nestlé's current environment includes Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Copilot. Solutions that can work with this environment are welcome, and final integration and deployment requirements will be confirmed with the Nestlé team.
